Over 1 Billion Views Worldwide Propel the Museum of Evolution on Lolland to Focus on International Guests

Since its international debut in June 2023, the Museum of Evolution has garnered immense attention abroad, achieving over 1 billion views across global TV networks and online platforms.

This worldwide recognition has led to a significant increase in international visitors to Lolland during the summer.

Expanding the Collection With Global Headlines

In 2024, the Museum of Evolution showcased even more world-class dinosaur skeletons. First came the skeleton of a brand-new species, Lokiceratops. It was later joined by a 15-meter-long Camarasaurus grandis, which is 97% intact. Both dinosaurs have been major international news stories, capturing attention across the globe.

The museum has drawn particularly strong interest from the United States, with coverage from major networks such as CBS, NBC, ABC, and Fox. In Germany, outlets like Das Erste have also featured stories about the museum.

A Vision for International Growth

Christoffer Knuth, director of the Museum of Evolution and Knuthenborg Safari Park, is delighted by the attention:

“The extensive exposure of both the museum’s research and the dinosaurs we exhibit underscores our position as one of the world’s leading dinosaur museums. It also gives us great confidence that we can attract even more international visitors in the future.”

The range of international guests is broad, from visitors from Utah, USA—where many of the skeletons were excavated—to a significant number of German tourists.

Knuth elaborates: “We are very optimistic about continuing this growth, which has seen a 12% increase in German visitors this year. With the opening of the Fehmarn Belt Tunnel just a few seasons away, we are moving forward with a focus on strengthening our international presence, aiming to attract even more German tourists to Lolland-Falster.”
